Biography

Laura Herz is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford, where she leads the Semiconductors Group at the Clarendon Laboratory. She received her PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge in 2002 and worked as a Research Fellow at St John's College, Cambridge, from 2001 to 2003. In 2006, she was awarded an Advanced Fellowship from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, maintaining this role until 2012, and is currently an EPSRC Open Fellow. She is also an Associate Editor for Applied Physics Reviews and Chemical Physics Reviews. In addition to her academic roles, Professor Herz has received numerous awards, including the Michael Faraday Medal, and is a Fellow of multiple professional societies.
