Dr. Laura Kasischke

Biography

Laura Kasischke is the Theodore Roethke Distinguished University Professor in the Residential College at the University of Michigan. She has published nine novels, three of which were adapted into feature-length films and a prize-winning miniseries. Her works have garnered significant acclaim, including the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Rilke Award, and the Prix Elle for Best Novel Published in 2014. Kasischke's literary contributions extend to a collection of short fiction, a novella, and eleven poetry collections, featuring works that have been widely translated and published in prestigious outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Granta. Her poetry and prose have been included in various anthologies and critical compilations, establishing her as a prominent figure in contemporary literature.
