Laura Nasrallah is the Buckingham Professor of New Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale University. Her research and teaching integrate New Testament studies and early Christian literature with archaeological remains from the Mediterranean world, delving into issues of colonialism, gender, race, status, and power. Nasrallah's forthcoming book, 'Ancient Christians Power Curses: Magic, Aesthetics, Justice' (Cambridge University Press, 2024), employs contemporary art, particularly works by Black artists, as a lens for analyzing ritual objects and practices in the ancient Mediterranean. Her previous works include 'Letters of Paul' (Oxford University Press, 2019; paperback, 2021) which examines the contexts in which Paul wrote, and 'Christian Responses to Roman Art and Architecture' which discusses early Christian engagement with Greco-Roman cultures. Nasrallah has also contributed to collaborative volumes addressing race, gender, and ethnicity in early Christian studies. She teaches online courses through HarvardX/edX and is currently working on several long-term projects, including a commentary on 1 Corinthians.
