Biography

Laura Pozzi joined the Faculty of Informatics at Università della Svizzera italiana in 2005 as an Assistant Professor. She became an Associate Professor in 2011 and a Full Professor in 2015. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Processor Architecture Laboratory of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and was a research engineer at STMicroelectronics. Laura has also served as an industrial visitor at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a Master's degree from Politecnico di Milano (1996) and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2000). Her research interests include embedded processor customization, compiler techniques for customizable processors, coarse-grain reconfigurable fabrics, design automation for approximate circuits, and fuzz testing. Laura has served on the Technical Program Committee for various prestigious conferences including the International Conference on Compilers, Architecture and Software for Embedded Systems (CASES) and the Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference & Exhibition (DATE). She has also been the Co-Program Chair for the IEEE Symposium on Application Specific Architectures (SASP). Laura is a recipient of the 40th IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC) Paper Award. Currently, she teaches courses at USI, including Automata and Formal Languages, Computer Architectures, Logic Design, Programming Fundamentals, and Data Science.
