Dr. Laura Rockman

Biography

Laura Rockman, Psy.D., is a licensed pediatric psychologist at Dell Children's Medical Center, specializing in the care of patients with various forms of kidney disease and their caregivers. She works closely with nephrology inpatient consultation-liaison behavioral health teams, providing comprehensive support during admissions. Dr. Rockman earned her B.A. in psychology from Dickinson College and an M.A. in forensic psychology from Marymount University. She completed her doctoral training in clinical psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Washington, D.C. Her clinical internship was conducted at Children's Hospital Michigan, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Nemours/Alfred duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Prior to her current role, Dr. Rockman gained valuable experience at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and worked overseas for eight years at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, where she led a team of clinical neuropsychologists. Her research interests include understanding how youth and their families cope with chronic medical conditions, and she has co-authored a systematic review on pain and emotional functioning in pediatric sickle cell disease.
