Biography

Laura Savarese is an Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University College of Law. Her research focuses on legal history, particularly the evolving substantive law, procedures, and institutions that shape family relationships with the state. Before joining the Law College faculty, she was a Golieb Fellow at NYU School of Law. Savarese received her B.A. from Harvard College, J.D. from Yale Law School, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Yale University, expected to complete her doctorate in 2024. She has experience as a law clerk for the Honorable Rowan D. Wilson at the New York Court of Appeals and as a summer associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York.
