Dr. Laura Senn

Biography

Laura Senn is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis. She primarily teaches courses in the Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN). With a focus on enhancing safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care for women and newborns, Senn has accumulated 20 years of teaching experience in undergraduate nursing programs across California and Minnesota. She has worked with institutions like California State University, the University of San Francisco, and Minnesota State University, where she developed and co-taught a study abroad course focusing on intercultural sensitivity and healthcare delivery systems worldwide. Senn’s clinical background includes significant roles as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator, complemented by 30 years of direct patient care experience. Her scholarship is highlighted by numerous publications and national presentations. In addition, she actively contributes to the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) in California as the Membership Coordinator and is a certified instructor for the Obstetric Patient Safety (OPS): OB Emergencies course.
