Dr. Laura Sheiman

Biography

Laura Sheiman, MD is a board-certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging. Her clinical expertise encompasses multiple aspects of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic tomosynthesis mammography (3D mammography), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast procedures. Her research interests focus on breast diseases and neoplasms, early cancer detection, and mammography. Dr. Sheiman is passionate about enhancing the patient experience and improving communication between patients and physicians. In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively involved in teaching residents and fellows. Dr. Sheiman specializes in breast imaging to directly interact with patients and influence their care positively. She works at the Breast Center, Smilow Cancer Hospital, and offers services across various outpatient offices in Fairfield, Stratford, and New Haven. Dr. Sheiman maintains professional memberships in several notable organizations, including the Society of Breast Imaging and the American College of Radiology.
