Biography

Laura Yoviene Sykes is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where she was mentored by Dr. Jean Rhodes. Her undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Notre Dame, where she received the John F. Santos Award for Distinctive Achievement in Psychology. Before her role at Yale, Sykes completed fellowships specializing in the treatment of schizophrenia spectrum disorders and has been active in various professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the Connecticut Psychological Association. Her work has contributed significantly to understanding and improving health care delivery for young people facing serious mental health challenges.
