Dr. Laura Toni

Biography

Laura Toni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London (UCL). She is a member of the ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning Intelligent Systems) and a Turing Fellow Alumni, leading a team of remarkable researchers as a postgraduate tutor. Laura completed her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Between 2007 and 2011, she held visiting and post-doctoral positions where she contributed to advancements in wireless communication systems and sensor networks for robotics applications. Her academic journey includes significant roles at the University of California, San Diego, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Switzerland, where she focused on signal processing. Laura joined UCL as a Lecturer in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 2016 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022.
