Biography

Laura Waller leads the Computational Imaging Lab and develops new methods in optical imaging and computational algorithms. She holds the Ted Van Duzer Endowed Professorship and is a Senior Fellow at the Berkeley Institute of Data Science (BIDS). Laura has affiliations with Bioengineering and Applied Sciences & Technology. She was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer in Physics at Princeton University from 2010 to 2012 and received her BS, MEng, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2004, 2005, and 2010, respectively. Laura is a Moore Foundation Data-Driven Investigator, a Bakar Fellow, and an awardee of the Distinguished Graduate Student Mentoring award and the NSF CAREER award. Additionally, she is a Chan-Zuckerberg Biohub Investigator, a recipient of the SPIE Early Career Achievement Award, and a Packard Fellow.
