Dr. Lauren Baldassarre

Biography

Dr. Lauren Baldassarre is an Associate Professor in Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine. She serves as the Director of the Cardio-Oncology Program at Yale Cancer Center, focusing on managing patients' cardiac health during cancer treatment. Dr. Baldassarre's research interests prominently feature the integration of multimodal cardiovascular imaging in clinical and translational research, emphasizing cardiovascular magnetic resonance and computed tomography. Her work addresses cardiovascular disease prevention, acute myocardial infarction, and the unique cardiac challenges faced by women and cancer patients. Dr. Baldassarre completed her cardiology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she developed her expertise in advanced cardiac imaging. Since joining Yale Medicine in 2013, she has consistently contributed to expanding the field of cardio-oncology through patient care and research. Her ultimate goal is to detect and treat cardiac side effects of cancer therapies proactively.
