I am a postdoctoral researcher currently working under the supervision of Associate Professor Paul Ekert in the Translational Tumour Biology research group at Children's Cancer Institute. My research focuses on functional validation of novel molecular drivers in the zero childhood cancer cohort and the differential signal pathway activation of ABL1 fusions in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. I have expertise in signal transduction and kinase signaling and a broad range of molecular and cellular biology technical skills. My PhD work at the University of Melbourne explored the biological function of therapeutic targeting tyrosine kinase fusion genes in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. I am involved in current research activities that include establishing the role of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR1-4) gene aberrations in pediatric cancer, providing invaluable resources to understand oncogenesis and potentially influence treatment approaches for hard-to-treat cancers. I also supervise honors and PhD projects available in the Translational Tumour Biology group.
