Lauren Hall-Lew is a Professor and Personal Chair in Sociolinguistics at the University of Edinburgh. She is a variationist sociolinguist with research interests in phonetics, social meaning, and language change. Hall-Lew has an undergraduate degree in Linguistics from the University of Arizona and both a Master’s degree and a PhD from Stanford University.
