Dr. Lauren Lindstrom

Biography

Lauren E. Lindstrom is a Professor and Dean of the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. With over 30 years of experience focusing on the career development of young adults with disabilities and learning differences, her research examines the interplay of individual factors such as gender and socioeconomic status, family expectations, and systemic influences affecting educational policies and access to workplace opportunities. She has created numerous career development programs aimed at improving post-school outcomes for individuals with disabilities. Over her career, Lindstrom has also served as an associate dean and director at the University of Oregon, and founded the Center for Research on Education. In recognition of her contributions, she has received numerous awards including the Distinguished Researcher Award from the American Educational Research Association. Lindstrom is also involved in various faculty initiatives at the UC Davis MIND Institute and has expanded her expertise internationally, actively participating in dialogues surrounding disability rights and education worldwide. Her teaching spans qualitative research and educational leadership, and she has contributed significantly to the field through publications and conference presentations.
