Dr. Lauren Papp

Biography

Lauren M. Papp is a Professor in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she also serves as the Associate Dean for Research. Since joining the faculty in 2006, she has established a broad program of research focusing on the role of intimate family relationships in shaping development across the lifespan. Her work employs innovative methods to assess the everyday experiences of romantic partners and family members, leading to insights about marital conflict and its implications for child and family functioning. Papp's research has documented the interdependence of romantic couples with their family members across multiple domains, highlighting how individuals’ emotional states can influence each other. Her contributions have been pivotal in understanding health and well-being in the context of family relationships. Additionally, Papp collaborates with colleagues to enhance the understanding of family outcomes related to autism spectrum disorders. She is deeply committed to mentoring and teaching about intimate relationships, family stress, and coping strategies.
