Biography

Lauren Wildschut holds a PhD in Evaluation Studies and has spent the past 19 years evaluating programs primarily in higher education across South Africa and other sub-Saharan African countries. Currently, she serves as the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Evaluation Program at the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science, and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University. She is also the Director of the African Institute ATLAS.ti (AIA), which aims to build a cadre of qualitative researchers in Africa to produce rigorous research utilizing ATLAS.ti software. Furthermore, she is the chairperson of the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) and serves as the current South African representative for the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE). With over a decade of experience, Wildschut is a member of the American Evaluation Association and the International Society for Evaluation Educators (ISEE), focusing on promoting quality evaluation education and stimulating collaboration in the field of evaluation. She has reviewed for several journals, including the African Journal of Evaluation and the Canadian Journal of Evaluation, among others, and has worked with a variety of clients including government, nongovernmental organizations, international donors, and foundations across Africa.
