Biography

Associate Professor Laurence Wakelin specializes in the fields of pharmacology and cancer research. His current research focuses on developing novel DNA-targeted alkylating agents for the treatment of glioblastoma and triple negative breast cancer, particularly addressing the challenges presented by the blood-brain barrier and the unique characteristics of these tumors. He is involved in various collaborative efforts, including work at the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre and University College London, and he has a significant track record in securing research funding from various prestigious organizations.
