Dr. Laurent Frésard

Biography

Laurent Frésard is a Professor of Finance at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and holds a senior chair at the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI). He is also a research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Laurent completed his PhD at the University of Neuchâtel and has served previously as a professor at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and at HEC Paris. His research primarily focuses on the interactions between financial markets, technology, and the real economy. His work has been published in renowned academic journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies, and he has received various prestigious grants and awards throughout his career. Laurent possesses extensive teaching experience at the master's, PhD, and executive levels and has developed and directed customized programs tailored for various industries, with a particular emphasis on the financial sector. He is a regular speaker at academic and practitioner events globally and serves as a consultant and board member for professional organizations, companies, and foundations.
