Biography

Laurent Goetschel is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Basel and Director of the Swiss Peace Foundation (swisspeace). He studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IUHEI). His academic background includes visiting scholar positions at prestigious institutions such as the Center for European Studies at Harvard University and the Center for International Conflict Resolution at Columbia University. He has led the National Research Program on Swiss Foreign Policy (NFP42) and served as a lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern.
