Biography

Laurent Pacheco trained in Public Health at Paris-La Sorbonne School of Medicine and later specialized in Pharmaceutical Medicine at King’s College London. His clinical practice was complemented by a consulting career at PwC, where he served large life science corporations and mid-size early-stage ventures across Paris, New York, and London. His extensive experience covers a broad range of disciplines including R&D, medical affairs, health economics and outcomes research, market access, and commercial operations strategy. He eventually became the Head of Life Science at BearingPoint Consulting in the UK and joined the industry as Managing Director (international) of Syneos Health. Subsequently, Laurent embraced a career in healthcare management and finance as a venture capital investor at Solas BioVentures, supporting ventures that develop novel technologies in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and digital health. As an experienced non-executive director, Laurent serves as Chairman of the London Venture Capital Network and Managing Partner of the International Family Offices Alliance in Health. At King’s College London, he specializes in health economics and finance, both in teaching and research. His research themes and publications cover health economics and outcomes research, patient access, public health policies, healthcare entrepreneurship, and healthcare management finance. Laurent holds a Doctorate in Medicine, a PhD in Health Economics, an MBA, and MScs in Pharmacology and Health Systems Administration, and is an alumnus of Paris-La Sorbonne, Oxford University, and King’s College London.
