Biography

Laurie Beaudonnet is an associate professor of European politics at the Université de Montréal, where her research focuses on political attitudes, elections, and public opinion within the European Union, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods. She serves as the scientific director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Montreal and has held the Jean Monnet EuroScope Chair from 2015 to 2019. Beaudonnet directed the Research Network on Politicization Processes in the EU (RESTEP) from 2017 to 2021. Her work emphasizes the comparison of national contexts and the joint effects of individual and contextual factors, currently exploring citizen attitudes towards European integration and the evolution of political parties related to European issues, particularly focusing on nationalist and populist parties. She is a member of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CECD), CERIUM, and the Jean Monnet Centre.
