Biography

Laurie Clune is a Professor and Associate Dean (Research, Scholarship & Graduate Programs) at the University of Regina's Faculty of Nursing. With extensive experience as a Registered Nurse, she has transitioned to academia, significantly impacting nursing education within higher education and community colleges across Ontario and Saskatchewan since 2013. Her research interests are framed by critical feminist and anti-oppression theory, focusing on the sociopolitical factors that influence the experiences of nursing students and the homeless population. She is actively involved in the Canadian Doctoral Nursing Network Conference and has contributed to numerous publications that address nursing education and social issues in healthcare. In 2023, she was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing. Her educational credentials include a BA in Sociology from Brescia College and a PhD in Nursing Administration from the University of Toronto. Among her many roles, she serves as Research Ethics Board Chair and has been part of vital studies exploring homelessness and access to healthcare services.
