Biography

Laurina Zhang is an Associate Professor in Strategy and Innovation at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Her research focuses on how organizational policy levers influence innovation inequality, examining the role of technology and information in shaping innovative, entrepreneurial, and creative outcomes, especially for disadvantaged subgroups. Her work has been published in top-tier journals including Management Science and Strategic Management Journal, and she has received several prestigious awards such as the Dissertation Award from the Academy of Management and the Kauffman Junior Faculty Fellowship. Additionally, she has contributed to the National Bureau of Economic Research's Innovation Policy and Economics Digitization working groups. Laurina's research has also been highlighted in media outlets such as Forbes and PCMag. She has received notable teaching recognitions, including being named one of Poets & Quants’ 40-Under-40 MBA Professors and receiving the Student Recognition Excellence in Teaching Award. Before joining Boston University, she was on the faculty at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Scheller College of Business and Ivey Business School at Western University. Laurina holds a Ph.D. from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, completed in 2014.
