Biography

Lawrence Glickman is the Stephen and Evalyn Milman Professor of American Studies in the Department of History at Cornell University. He is the author and editor of five books, including 'Free Enterprise: American History' (2019) and 'Buying Power: History Consumer Activism America' (2009). In addition to his scholarly work, Glickman writes for various public affairs publications such as the Washington Post, Boston Review, and Dissent. He teaches a popular course on 'Sports Politics American History' as well as a variety of lecture and seminar courses that focus on political, cultural, and intellectual history. Glickman is also a core faculty member of the History Capitalism Initiative.
