Biography

Lawrence R. Herz, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Psychiatry with a focus on General Psychiatry. He has dedicated his career to serving veterans as a general adult psychiatrist and has worked for over 20 years as a principal evaluations clinic psychiatrist at the Bedford VA Hospital, where he also served as Acting Chief of Psychiatry. Dr. Herz directs the Bedford VA Hospital Mental Health Grand Rounds, a continuing medical education series at Boston University. He completed his medical education at the University of Kentucky, followed by his BA from Harvard College, and a fellowship in Clinical Geriatrics and Gerontology. As a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, his research interests include antipsychotic therapy, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatric nosology, chronobiology, and sleep medicine.
