Biography

Lawrence Rubin is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Georgia Tech DC Program within the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. He is also an Associate Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies. His research focuses on Middle East politics and international security, with particular emphasis on intra-regional relations, religious politics, nuclear proliferation, and emerging technologies. Rubin has conducted field research in countries including Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, the UAE, and Yemen. He has served as a senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense’s Policy Council and was involved in nuclear security initiatives sponsored by the Stanton Foundation. Rubin has written and edited multiple books on security challenges, including 'End Strategic Stability?' and 'Terrorist Rehabilitation: New Approaches to Counter-terrorism.' His academic contributions are published in various respected journals, and he has held teaching and research positions at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and Brandeis University. Rubin's work is recognized within the academic community, and he is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
