Dr. Lawrence Siew

Biography

Lawrence T. Siew, MD, MBA, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of the Children's Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Dr. Siew specializes in pediatric emergency medicine, providing urgent and emergent care for infants, children, and adolescents with serious illnesses and injuries. His clinical interests focus on improving patient care outcomes, quality, safety, and operational efficiency through novel care delivery methods, including telemedicine. Dr. Siew is a certified professional coder with expertise in clinical documentation and coding. He completed his undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University and earned his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Following his MD, he completed a pediatrics residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell, where he also served as chief resident. Subsequently, Dr. Siew completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Yale. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Siew was honored with the Ken Graff Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for his project evaluating the reliability of telemedicine in assessing critically ill children.
