Dr. Lawrence Staib

Biography

Lawrence Staib received his A.B. in Physics from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in Engineering Applied Science from Yale University. He is a Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Yale University. Staib is a member of the editorial board for 'Medical Image Analysis' and serves as an Associate Editor for the 'IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering.' He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and was elected to the Council of Distinguished Investigators of the Academy of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research. His research interests focus on the development of methods for medical image analysis, with applications in cancer, neuroimaging, and cardiology, primarily using machine learning and model-based approaches. He has a notable publication record with significant outputs in various domains of biomedical imaging and has contributed to numerous collaborative research endeavors.
