Dr. Le Yin Zhang

Biography

Le-Yin Zhang is a Professor at the Development Planning Unit of University College London (UCL), specializing in Urban Economic Development and Planning. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Beijing Normal University and a PhD in Planning Studies from UCL. Since joining UCL in 1997, Le-Yin has amassed significant experience in research and consultancy, working with various international organizations and national governments. His research focuses on economic development and management in cities, addressing issues such as foreign direct investment, industrialization, climate change, and low-carbon transitions. He has co-authored and edited several influential publications, including "Managing City Economy: Challenges Strategies Developing Countries" and has been actively involved in directing urban economic development programs and courses. Le-Yin's work extends to various countries, including China, Germany, Egypt, and the UK, contributing his expertise to urban development strategies and sustainable urban planning. He is fluent in Mandarin and is committed to sustainable development goals across several fields, including industry innovation and climate action.
