Dr. Le Luo

Biography

Le Luo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, specializing in corporate sustainability and carbon accounting. His recent research projects examine how businesses and capital market participants adapt to new environmental regulations and standards that encourage and assist businesses in carbon disclosure, assurance, and performance management. Luo has made significant contributions to the field, authoring over 50 papers in prestigious journals including Review Accounting Studies, European Accounting Review, British Accounting Review, and more. His research has been widely recognized and has profound impacts on policymaking, receiving citations from influential entities such as the European Central Bank and the Bank for International Settlements. Additionally, his work has been acknowledged by organizations like the Women's Environment & Development Organization and the German Federal Environment Agency. For the years 2021 to 2024, he was ranked among the top 2% of scientists in Accounting according to a study led by Stanford University’s Prof. John Ioannidis. Le also serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for 40 leading journals and actively contributes to attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through his research.
