Biography

Le Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Finance discipline at the Australian National University, affiliated with the College of Business and Economics. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in corporate finance, as well as PhD research courses focused on empirical methodology. Dr. Zhang’s primary research field lies in corporate finance, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, governance, and issues pertaining to emerging markets. His work has been published in several leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Financial Management, and the Journal of Banking and Finance. He has received numerous awards for his research, notably the Pearson Prize for a paper published in Financial Management. Prior to his current position, Dr. Zhang taught at the University of New South Wales and holds a PhD in Finance from Nanyang Technological University.
