Dr. Lea Ypi

Biography

Lea Ypi is the Ralph Miliband Professor of Political Philosophy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has a background in Philosophy and Literature with degrees from the University of Rome La Sapienza and a PhD from the European University Institute. Previous positions include a permanent fellowship at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and an honorary professorship at the Australian National University. Ypi is an accomplished author, known for her works including 'Indignity: Life Reimagined' and the co-authored 'Global Justice'. Her writings have been translated into over thirty-five languages, and she has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Royal Society Literature Ondaatje Prize and the British Academy Prize for Excellence in Political Science. In addition to her academic work, she co-edits the journal 'Political Philosophy' and contributes to the 'Financial Guardian'. Her research interests include Political Philosophy, History of Philosophy, Marxism, Critical Theory, and European Literature.
