Biography

Leah completed her undergraduate degree majoring in German Studies at Monash University in 2002. She was awarded a One-Semester Scholarship by DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) to study at Free University, Berlin in 2001. She completed her PhD in German Studies at Monash University in 2008, funded by DAAD to conduct research at Humboldt University, Berlin. Leah's expertise relates to the UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015, focusing on projects that contribute to poverty reduction and environmental protection. Over the past five years, she has engaged in collaborations addressing the communication preferences of multicultural communities and developing training packages for interpreter training. Additionally, she has worked on building mental health capacity in the Auslan workforce. Leah actively supervises PhD students and is involved in various research projects.
