Leah Lovett is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at University College London. As a researcher and artist, she explores methods of digital co-creation to address questions of spatial and environmental justice through the lens of arts practices and urbanism. In her role, she takes the departmental lead on impact, engagement, and outreach, developing arts-led approaches that bridge knowledge systems and enable community stakeholder participation in interdisciplinary research projects. Leah has led collaborative efforts with academics and partners on various projects, such as using weaving to understand collective models of urban development and developing arts methods to communicate risks associated with urban heatwaves. Additionally, she has been involved in co-creating digital exhibitions with museums and galleries and facilitating intersectional feminist history projects. As the engagement lead for the Memory Mapper project, she has contributed to developing an open-source toolkit that maps stories of places while amplifying underrepresented narratives. Leah's work also informs her teaching practice in the Arts and Sciences, where she co-leads the BASc module entitled Understanding Cities and Spatial Cultures. Recently appointed as Lead for UCL East, she focuses on developing opportunities for cross-faculty research collaboration in the context of the new UCL campus in Stratford.
