Biography

Leah Stephenson Tzimenatos is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at UC Davis Health. With a primary focus on providing care for pediatric patients facing emergent medical illnesses and traumatic injuries, she is dedicated to the education of medical students, residents, nurses, and families. Her research interests include patient safety, medical error prevention, and pediatric analgesia and sedation. Dr. Tzimenatos earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia and her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Baylor and furthered her expertise with a fellowship in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Tzimenatos has received recognition as a “Top Doctor” by Sacramento Magazine in 2020 and 2021, and she was awarded the UC Davis Chancellor’s Achievement Award for Diversity and Community in 2019. She has also been honored with the UC Davis Deans’ Team Award for Excellence in Research in 2018.
