Biography

Leandro Magnusson is an applied econometrician whose research focuses primarily on identifying causal relationships among economic variables through time series and cross-sectional models. His academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo, a Master of Arts in Economics from the same institution, and a Ph.D. from Brown University. Magnusson has held positions at Tulane University as an Assistant Professor and has also worked as a researcher at the Institute of Applied Economic Research in Brazil. His current research projects involve empirical studies on Euler equations, IV regression, and the New Keynesian curve in small open economies. He also teaches advanced econometrics courses and has numerous academic contributions related to econometrics and applied econometrics, with a focus on new-Keynesian models. In recognition of his work, Magnusson received the BHP Billiton Distinguished Research Award in 2014.
