Biography

Leandro Pecchia graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2005 and received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering Management of Healthcare Services in 2009 from the University "Federico II" Naples. In 2013, he joined the University of Warwick in the UK as a Reader in Biomedical Engineering. Subsequently, in 2014, he became the Director of the Applied Biomedical Signal Processing Intelligent eHealth Lab (ABSPIE). With over 100 peer-reviewed papers published in various journals and conferences, his research primarily focuses on Health Technology Assessment, Internet of Things, and machine learning applied to active and healthy aging management and chronic disease management. Since November 2020, Leandro has been serving as the Innovation Manager for the PPE pillar of the COVID-19 Blueprint programme. He holds several prestigious positions, including President of the European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering Sciences (EAMBES), Secretary General of the International Union of Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM), and Treasurer of the Clinical Engineering Division (CED) of the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE).
