Biography

Leandro B. C. Teixeira, DVM, MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathobiological Sciences at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from West Paulista University, Brazil, in 2002, and subsequently completed a residency in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology at São Paulo State University. He also holds a Master's degree in Veterinary Pathology from the same institution and has completed research fellowships focused on comparative ocular pathology and vision science. Dr. Teixeira is the director of the Comparative Ocular Pathology Laboratory of Wisconsin (COPLOW) and contributes to collaborative research projects aimed at understanding and treating ocular diseases through morphological ultrastructural assessments in animal models, particularly in areas such as glaucoma, retinal neovascular diseases, ocular immunology, and comparative studies of spontaneous ocular diseases.
