Professor Leanna Rubio joined the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry in 2023. Professor Rubio is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Education Association, American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Dental Hygiene Educators Texas, and Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association. In 2024, she received the Lorna J. Bruning Award for Outstanding Teaching, which recognizes faculty members who demonstrate exceptional knowledge and competence in effective learning.
