Biography

Professor in the Department of Mathematics and the Illinois Institute for Universal Biology. Currently serves as Director of Graduate Studies in Mathematics and holds an affiliate faculty position at the Institute for Genomic Biology as well as in Computational Science and Engineering. His research interests include stochastic analysis, differential equations, and dynamical systems. He has received several awards throughout his career including the N. Tenney Peck Teaching Award in Mathematics in 2010, was honored as a National Academy of Sciences Kavli Fellow in 2012, and received the Campus Distinguished Promotion Award at the University of Illinois in 2013. Additionally, he has served as Associate Chair of Mathematics and Director of Undergraduate Studies, contributing significantly to the academic community.
