Biography

Lee McNeish is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, focused on social movements addressing environmental sustainability risks. He completed his MA in Social Anthropology at the same university in 2016. His dissertation research explored how people's imagined futures inform present actions, particularly in the context of environmentalism and nature/culture debates. Currently, he is involved in an ESRC (1+3) funded project investigating the relationship between the new outer space industry and rewilding projects in the Scottish Highlands. His research examines the narratives surrounding large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the establishment of spaceports, and how these intersect with local views on land and home, particularly in the context of rewilding and environmentalism.
