Dr. Lee Olvera

Biography

Lee Olvera is a Professor of Practice in the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California, where he serves as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Architecture Programs. He earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with distinction, receiving the Henry Adams Certificate for Scholastic Achievement and the American Institute of Architects Scholastic Medal. His teaching encompasses thesis-level design studios and seminars focused on critical theory and color theory. Olvera's research interests include exploring landscape imagery and analytical botanical drawing, as well as the development of stories through visual media. His professional practice emphasizes arts-related residential projects that investigate various typologies of domestic creative spaces. Previously, he worked as a Design Associate at Frederick Fisher Partners, contributing to significant projects like the Annenberg Community Beach House and the Annenberg Center Gardens Retreat. In his current role, he also collaborates as a Design Partner and Art Director at NA+AA, based in Houston, Texas.
