Biography

Lee Washesky is a registered architect and returning instructor at Penn State University with over 25 years of experience in the architectural field. He has worked at various firms where he has been involved in a diverse range of projects, from small New York apartments to large commercial, retail, industrial, corporate, and educational facilities. Washesky spent five years in Rafael Vinoly’s New York office, where he served as a project manager for the construction phase of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and contributed to the Abu Dhabi master plan for New York University. He has over a decade of experience designing and overseeing the construction of K-12 school projects, including a new elementary school in Spencerport, New York, and a new high school in Bordentown, New Jersey. Washesky holds a B.S. in Architecture from Penn State and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, and he has studied at the Architectural Association in London. He currently sketches portraits of notable figures in the architecture and art world, exploring the boundaries between portraiture and caricature.
