Biography

Leena Grover is an Associate Professor of International Law at Tilburg Law School, focusing on peace and security law. Her research spans fields such as international criminal law, the use of force in international law, international human rights law, public international law, post-conflict constitution-building, and transitional justice. As a Canadian lawyer, she is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and holds a habilitation in law from the University of Zurich. Her doctoral degree was obtained from the University of Cologne, where she wrote on the interpretation of crimes under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. She also has undergraduate degrees in law and international relations/political science from the University of Toronto and Western University, respectively. Leena serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Journal of International Law and is a Council Adviser for the Global Institute for the Prevention of Aggression. Prior to her academic career at Tilburg, she has over a decade of legal practice experience at the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the UN Human Rights Committee, and more. She has received multiple teaching awards at Tilburg University and is passionate about mentoring graduate students and supervising doctoral thesis proposals.
