Dr. Lei Xing

Biography

Dr. Lei Xing is the Jacob Haimson and Sarah S. Donaldson Professor and Director of the Medical Physics Division in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. He holds affiliate faculty positions in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Bio-X Molecular Imaging Program. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in medicine, medical imaging, treatment planning, image-guided interventions, nanomedicine, and molecular imaging applications in radiation oncology. Dr. Xing has made significant contributions to these fields and is the author of over 400 peer-reviewed publications. He is a co-inventor on numerous issued and pending patents and has served as both co-investigator and principal investigator on a variety of grants from organizations such as NIH, NSF, DOD, RSNA, and ACS. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Google Faculty Scholar Award and the E. H. Quimby Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Dr. Xing is a Fellow of AAPM, ASTRO, and AIMBE and has held various editorial and advisory roles in professional journals and committees.
