Biography

Leif Dahlberg is an expert in orthopaedics based at Lund University, specifically within the Lund Osteoarthritis Division. His research focuses on osteoarthritis, which is the most common joint disease characterized by the progressive breakdown of cartilage, leading to pain during movement and load-bearing activities. A significant portion of his work addresses the lack of longitudinal studies assessing the progression of osteoarthritis and factors that may prognostically benefit patients. Many patients currently receive little guidance beyond awaiting joint replacement surgery, although studies indicate that only a fraction are suitable candidates for such procedures.
