Dr. Leila Talani

Biography

Leila Simona Talani is a Professor of International Political Economy at King's College London, where she has been since 2014. She is the Director of the Centre for Italian Politics at the European and International Studies department, which she founded in 2022. Talani has extensive experience in several academic and research settings, including for the European Institute at the London School of Economics and as an Associate Expert for the United Nations. Her research focuses on International Political Economy, especially in the context of migration, the Middle East, and European political dynamics. She has authored several influential publications, including books on the political economy of migration and the impacts of the global financial crisis on migration patterns. In addition to her academic achievements, Talani has served on editorial boards for prominent journals and has received numerous awards for her contributions to the field. She actively engages in public discourse about migration policies and political economies.
