Biography

Len Tetta is a Lecturer in the Department of Composition and Theory at Boston University and a Lecturer in Composition at Keene State College. He has served on the Composition Faculty at Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Composition Fundamentals Workshop, Electroacoustic Composition Workshop, and Young Artists' Composition Program. His primary academic interests include grammatical organization of musical materials and structures, particularly harmony and form theory in classical and popular musics. Tetta has composed works performed by leading new music ensembles including Collage New Music, Mivos Quartet, Arx Duo, and New Thread Saxophone Quartet. He studied under composers such as Marti Epstein, Andrew List, Eun Young Lee, Joshua Fineberg, and Richard Cornell. In 2020, his string quartet composition "Farthest Corners" was selected as a finalist in the Bartók World Competition's Competition for Composers. He was also selected as a Collage Fellow for Collage New Music for the 2023-2024 season, where he composed "A Conversation Cannot Hear" for a final concert scheduled in April 2024. Tetta's work has been featured in various performances, including the Zodiac Music Academy Festival in July 2022 and has seen premieres of compositions like "Clockwork Fog" and "Avoid Evade." His chamber work "You Wake Dead Tomorrow" was premiered and recorded, along with other works showcased in concerts such as the "Explorations Vol. 4: ATTACCA" concert.
