Dr. Lena Liu

Biography

Lena Liu, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a neurologist at Boston Medical Center. Her clinical interests lie in women's neurology, particularly focusing on neurological disorders that affect women throughout different stages of their lives, including menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, and aging. Dr. Liu has a keen interest in medical education and has contributed to the field by publishing a textbook on women's neurology, where she served as one of the chief editors. She completed her medical degree at Hofstra University School of Medicine and her residency in neurology at Mass General Brigham, where she also undertook a fellowship in women's neurology. Dr. Liu was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and has received recognition for her academic excellence, including the Zuckerman Prize for Excellence in Biological Engineering Research from Cornell University in 2018.
